5 Ways to Reheat Cheese Pizza Without Ruining It

Leftover cheese pizza is a beautiful thing—unless it ends up soggy, rubbery, or dried out after reheating. If you’ve ever been disappointed by a reheated slice, you’re not alone. The key is using the right method to bring your pizza back to life without losing the crispy crust and melty cheese that made it so good in the first place. That’s why our sub shop is here this month with five tried-and-true ways to reheat cheese pizza the right way.

Reheat in a Skillet

One of the best ways to keep the crust crispy and the cheese gooey is to use a skillet. Simply heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and place your slice in the skillet. Cover it loosely with a lid or foil to help the cheese melt evenly. After about 2–3 minutes, you’ll have a perfectly reheated slice with a crispy bottom and soft, melty top.

Use the Oven

The oven is great when you’re reheating several slices at once. Preheat your oven to 375°F and place the pizza directly on the oven rack or on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for about 8 to 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling and the crust is hot and crisp. This method brings your slice closest to how it tasted fresh from our kitchen.

Try the Air Fryer

Got an air fryer? It’s a game-changer for reheating pizza. Set it to 350°F and heat the slice for about 3 to 5 minutes. You’ll get a crisp crust and perfectly melted cheese in less time than it takes to preheat an oven.

Avoid the Microwave (But If You Must…)

Microwaves tend to make pizza chewy or soggy, but if it’s your only option, try this trick: place a cup of water in the microwave next to your slice. Heat on 50% power for 30 to 45 seconds. It won’t be perfect, but it’s better than nuking it on high and ruining that delicious cheese pull.

Use a Toaster Oven

A toaster oven is a great compromise between a skillet and full-size oven. Heat it to 375°F and place your slice directly on the rack or a tray. It takes about 5 to 7 minutes and gives great texture without drying out the crust or overcooking the cheese.
